Jan 20th a talk on Rostam’s Seven Trials and on Jan 27th a Sadeh Celebration for Kids with a Shahnameh story-telling.

A Celebration of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh

I am excited and honored to once again be hosting A Celebration of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh with the Iranian-American Community Center (IACC) at Pars Place on May 20th, 2017.

Please join us for a special evening with an art gallery featuring works inspired by the Shahnameh, with the likes of many talented artists including the renowned, Nasser Ovissi. There will also be a live Shahnameh Poetry reading/khaani and live Persian Classical Sonati Music by Ranam Ensemble.

I will have on display my latest digital artwork,  “Moment of Truth”, depicting Prince Siavash’s Trial by Fire from The Shahnameh.  Limited edition prints will be available for sale at the event.

New Shahnameh For Kids books!

So I’m doing a Kickstarter campaign to help get funding and support for new Shahnameh For Kids books  featuring the adventures of the mighty pahlavan, Rostam.  To be subsequently a book about the bravery of the female Iranian warrior, Gordafarid.

Kickstarter is an online website/app that helps crowdfund new creative projects through pledges and rewards packages.

For the Shahnameh For Kids Kickstarter, there are several different exclusive rewards packages to choose from.  You can get the books, sticker sheets, limited edition art prints with depictions of Kayumars, Hooshang or Kaveh the Blacksmith.   There is even a rewards package where you or a loved one can be drawn as a character in the new books!

Anyone who appreciates the rich culture and heritage of Iran knows how special Ferdowsi and The Shahnameh is.  Which is exactly why it is important to preserve it as best we can.  What better way to present to the world what Iranian culture and mythology is by supporting and creating Shahnameh For Kids books?   Right now is the time for a strong hero like Rostam as well as a role-model of empowerment like Gordafarid for girls.

A Ferdowsi-Filled Weekend!

Please join me this weekend, May 21 & 22 for two events celebrating Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh at Pars Place, the Iranian-American Community Center (IACC).

On Saturday May 21, it’s an art exhibit inspired by The Shahnameh. There will also be live Persian classical music, a Shahnemeh poetry reading, refreshments, wine and appetizers. 18 & up.

On Sunday May 22, I will be doing a live book reading of Shahnameh For Kids – The Story of Zal & Simorgh. This fun-filled family event will also include art activities for kids.  All ages!
